Doha airport reopens to international carriers on a phased basis after a government review

The civil aviation authority of Qatar said on Monday, April 20 that foreign airlines could slowly start flying into Doha again after a time when they had to stop.

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority issued a Notice to Airmen, a formal NOTAM , confirming that Hamad International Airport would reopen to international carriers on a phased basis. The authority did not specify which airlines were affected, when operations had been halted, or what prompted the original suspension.

The authority said that the decision was made after a thorough review with other government agencie to ensure readiness and operational efficiency.

Flights will operate under internationally recognized safety and security standards, with measures in place to protect passengers and aviation personnel, the aviation authority said.
