Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a stern televised address on Wednesday, breaking his silence for the first time since Israeli airstrikes hit key Iranian nuclear facilities last Friday. His comments mark a significant escalation in rhetoric amid the ongoing six-day war between Israel and Iran.
“The Zionist regime has committed a serious mistake and must prepare to face the consequences. Iran will neither forgive the breach of its airspace nor forget the blood of its martyrs,” Khamenei warned, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.
He further stated that Iran’s people are not the kind to yield to threats. “Wise people who know Iran, its people, and its history never speak to this nation in the language of threats, because Iranians are not those who surrender,” he said. “The Iranian nation will stand firm against an imposed war, just as it will stand firm against an imposed peace.”
Trump’s Warning to Iran
Khamenei’s warning comes a day after U.S. President Donald Trump issued a fiery threat via his Truth Social platform, stating that America knows the Supreme Leader’s exact location but is refraining from targeting him — for now.
Multiple media outlets have reported that Trump recently rejected an Israeli intelligence proposal to assassinate Ayatollah Khamenei. The claim, though unconfirmed by U.S. sources, has fueled speculation that such an option is still under consideration in Israeli defense circles.
When asked about those reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told ABC News that “it’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict,” signaling that Israel has not ruled out a direct strike against Iran’s top leader.

Six Days of Escalation
The Iran-Israel conflict entered its sixth day on Wednesday, as both sides continued heavy exchanges of fire. The war began when Israeli fighter jets struck several Iranian nuclear facilities on Friday, citing secret weapons development. Tehran has consistently denied such allegations.
According to media estimates, at least 224 people have been killed in Iran and 24 in Israel since the conflict erupted, with no signs of de-escalation on either side.
