Trump Warns Iran: Accept Hormuz Terms or Face Bombing at ‘Much Higher’ Intensity

Trump says Project Freedom remains paused while the Hormuz blockade stays in place during negotiations.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the Strait of Hormuz could be opened to all shipping, including Iran, if Tehran accepts what he described as terms already discussed in negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that outcome depends on Iran agreeing to the terms. He called that “perhaps, a big assumption.”

Trump also warned that if Iran does not agree, “the bombing starts,” and said it would be “at a much higher level and intensity than it was before.”

Trump’s statement came one day after he announced pausing “Project Freedom”, a U.S. operation he described as an effort to move ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Trump’s Tuesday post on Truth Social, the pause followed requests from Pakistan and other countries. Trump said the pause was meant to give negotiators time to see whether an agreement with Iran could be finalized and signed.

Trump said the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz would remain in place during the pause.

He described Project Freedom as the movement of ships through the strait. Trump also said the pause came after what he called “tremendous Military Success.”

“Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement with Representatives of Iran,” Trump wrote Tuesday.

Trump said Tuesday that countries around the world had asked Washington to help ships he described as “locked up” in the waterway.
