Cristiano Ronaldo earned $300 million over the past 12 months, ranking as the world’s highest-paid athlete for the fourth straight year, according to Forbes.
The 41-year-old Portugal captain’s net worth is estimated between $1.2 billion and $1.4 billion as of June 2026, according to Forbes, Bloomberg and other publications. Forbes puts it at $1.2 billion, while The Sun estimates $1.34 billion.
Ronaldo signed a contract extension with Saudi club Al Nassr in June 2025, making him a billionaire, Celebrity Net Worth reports. The deal is worth $400 million tax-free, Fortune says. His salary is around €208 million ($235 million) for the 2025-26 season.
Sponsorships bring in another $65 million a year, by Forbes’ count. The biggest is Nike. The sportswear giant signed Ronaldo to a lifetime deal reportedly worth over $1 billion — a contract that pays him roughly $18 million a year, plus royalties on merchandise carrying his CR7 brand.
Business empire beyond football
Off the field, Ronaldo co-owns the Pestana CR7 hotel chain, which runs properties in New York, Madrid, Lisbon and Marrakech, plus a 151-room Riyadh hotel announced in early 2026. His CR7 Crunch Fitness gyms cover the fitness side, and he has put money into Insparya, a hair restoration company. He also holds a co-ownership stake in Spanish club UD Almería through CR7 Sports Investments, according to The Richest.
Ronaldo has more than 670 million followers on Instagram, making him the most followed person on the platform (although he apparently lost about 8 million when the platform purged bot accounts in May 2026).
On the field
Ronaldo becomes the first player to play in six men’s FIFA World Cups and is heading to the 2026 tournament in North America. He has just won the Saudi Pro League title with Al Nassr and has scored 973 goals in his career, saying he wants to get to 1,000 before he retires.
