Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, called Sunday for the United States and Israel to be prosecuted in domestic and international courts over alleged crimes against Iranians, including the killing of his father.
In a message marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti and National Judiciary Week, Khamenei said harm done to Iranians during what he called the second and third “imposed wars” of 2025 and 2026 should be pursued in domestic and international courts, according to the statement.
He alleged the wars included child killings and war crimes in Minab and Lamerd, along with attacks on medical centers. Those claims could not be independently verified.

Khamenei pointed to the killing of his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, as one of those cases, calling him a martyred leader of the revolution.
Khamenei also claimed that some U.S. and Israeli leaders had confessed to the crimes, and even boasted about them — admissions he said proved their guilt. He named no one and pointed to no specific comments.
He cast the judiciary as the body meant to defend people’s rights, go after corruption and deliver justice. He set no timeline or venue for the cases.
