Diplomats Visit Kyiv Strike Sites as Ukraine Calls for Stronger Allied Response

Ukraine says 87 people were injured in Kyiv as officials push allies for stronger military support and air defense.

More than 70 foreign diplomats walked through the wreckage of Russian strikes in Kyiv on Monday, touring damaged neighborhoods as Ukraine’s foreign minister pressed allies to deliver more weapons and air defense systems.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha organized the visits following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after which he said he had clear instructions to pursue additional military aid, air defense packages, and missiles from partner nations.

“Moscow must know it will face a tough response to its terror,” Sybiha wrote on X.

He said allies must send unified signals to Russia, reaffirm robust military support for Ukraine, and make clear that Ukraine’s road to EU membership is “irreversible.”

Recovery work was still underway Monday in the Shevchenkivskyi and Podilskyi districts, with nearly 100 State Emergency Service personnel on the ground, according to President Zelenskyy.

About 300 sites across Kyiv were damaged in the attack. Most were residential — nearly 150 private homes and apartment buildings submitted damage reports in the 24 hours that followed, Zelenskyy said.

Eighty-seven people were reported injured in the capital as of Monday, including three children. Twenty-one were hospitalized and the remainder were receiving outpatient care.

The attack struck six Ukrainian regions in total, Zelenskyy said. He described air defense as a daily foreign policy priority and called for international pressure on Russia and accountability for the strikes.
