President Donald Trump said Tuesday that countries struggling to get jet fuel because of disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz should either buy fuel from the United States or “just TAKE IT” themselves.
In a Truth Social post Tuesday morning, Trump singled out countries he said did not support the United States during the recent confrontation with Iran. He specifically mentioned the United Kingdom, writing that countries unable to get jet fuel through the Strait should first “buy from the U.S., we have plenty,” and then “build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.”
Trump also suggested the United States would no longer step in to help allies that, in his view, failed to stand with Washington. “You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore,” he wrote.
He went on to claim Iran had been “essentially, decimated,” adding: “The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”
The post added a sharp new line to Trump’s public messaging as tensions remain focused on the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for global oil shipments.
The White House did not immediately issue a separate statement beyond sharing Trump’s Truth Social post on social media.
