Russia’s Overnight Missile-and-Drone Strikes Kill at Least 3 Across Ukraine, Kyiv Says

Kyiv reports deaths, injuries and infrastructure damage after overnight attacks across multiple regions.

Overnight, Russia launched a combination of ballistic missiles and drones in various Ukrainian regions. This led to the death of at least three civilians, with dozens more injured as their homes and vital infrastructure came under attack, according to Ukraine’s foreign ministry.

In its statement posted on X, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry stated that one of the drones hit an apartment block in Bucha District, Kyiv Region. This led to the death of two people and injured four, including two children.

The foreign ministry further stated that one person died, with seven injured in Ukraine’s Dnipro Region. This came after Kryvyi Rih lost heat. In Zaporizhzhia, four people were injured, with many residential buildings and dozens of vehicles damaged. In Odesa, three people were injured after drones struck port facilities and civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, there was damage to a high-rise residential building, but no casualties.

The overnight attacks followed a drone strike a day earlier on a passenger train in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region that killed at least five civilians, the ministry said, adding that almost 300 people were on board.

Ukraine’s foreign ministry renewed its call for stronger air defenses, sustained military support, and increased international pressure on Russia, arguing those steps are needed to protect civilians and prevent further attacks.
