President Donald Trump said Saturday that an agreement related to peace with Iran has been “largely negotiated,” with final details still under discussion.
Trump posted the news from the Oval Office on Truth Social, saying he had just concluded a call with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain.
The discussions produced a Memorandum of Understanding on peace between the United States, Iran, and the participating countries, Trump said. Opening the Strait of Hormuz is among the elements included in the agreement, he added.
“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization,” Trump said.
Trump said he also spoke separately with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing the call as going “very well.” He gave no further details on that conversation.
Final terms are still being worked out, Trump said, with a full announcement to follow.
