Trump Demands Eight Nations Join Abraham Accords as Condition of Iran Settlement

Trump said Saudi Arabia and Qatar should sign first, while suggesting Iran could eventually join the accords.

President Donald Trump said Monday that signing the Abraham Accords should be required of eight nations as part of any broader settlement with Iran, publicly tying the two diplomatic efforts together in a Truth Social post.

Trump said he raised the demand Saturday during talks with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

“It should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords,” he wrote.

Countries that refuse to sign should be cut from any deal, Trump said, calling that refusal a sign of “bad intention.”

The UAE and Bahrain are already members of the accords, which Trump brokered during his first term. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan have not signed.

Trump described the Iran talks as “proceeding nicely” but said a breakdown would mean returning to conflict “bigger and stronger than ever before.”

He went further, suggesting Iran could eventually join the accords itself. “If Iran signs its Agreement with me, as President of the United States of America, it would be an Honor to have them also be part of this unparalleled World Coalition,” he wrote.

Trump said he has instructed his representatives to begin the formal process of bringing all named countries into the accords. He called on Saudi Arabia and Qatar to sign first.

He allowed for limited exceptions, writing that “one or two” countries might have reasons for holding back and that those cases would be considered.
