Omar Asset Filing Swings From $30M to Under $100K

Official records and later reporting show a dramatic gap between Omar’s original disclosure and the lower figures reported in an amended filing.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures show a sharp shift in the reported value of household business assets, with an earlier filing listing holdings that could total more than $30 million and later reporting saying an amended version cut that figure to under $100,000.

According to the House Clerk, Omar’s 2023 annual disclosure listed her husband Tim Mynett’s interest in eStCru LLC at $15,001 to $50,000 and Rose Lake Capital LLC at $1 to $1,000. In her 2024 annual disclosure, filed in May 2025, those same holdings were listed far higher, with eStCru valued at $1,000,001 to $5,000,000 and Rose Lake Capital at $5,000,001 to $25,000,000.

The change drew scrutiny from House Republicans. In a February 5, 2026 letter, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said Omar’s filings appeared to show the couple’s assets rising from no more than about $208,000 in 2023 to potentially more than $30 million in 2024. Comer asked for records tied to the finances of the two businesses.

A report by The Wall Street Journal said Omar later filed an amended disclosure listing the couple’s assets at between $18,004 and $95,000. The newspaper reported that Omar’s office said the earlier filing was wrong because liabilities were not properly reflected. It also reported that spokesperson Jacklyn Rogers said Omar is not a millionaire.

The Journal said the amended filing still showed income tied to those holdings in 2024 and reported that Omar’s attorney told the Office of Congressional Conduct the earlier error was unintentional and stemmed from reliance on accountants and financial professionals.

The 2023 and 2024 disclosures are publicly available through the House Clerk. The amended figures and the explanation for the change were reported by the Journal, and Virginia Times has not independently reviewed a separate amended House filing.

No public charge or official finding of misconduct tied specifically to the disclosure change was found in the material reviewed.
