The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine says that Russia launched a severe overnight barrage of drone and missile strikes all across Ukraine, killing four people and hurting at least 16 more. A lot of cities were hit, such Kyiv and Dnipro, where rescue workers worked all night.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media that Russia used “dozens” of strike drones and nine ballistic missiles. He also said that one of the missiles hit Kyiv and killed a lot of people.
Zelenskyy extended his sympathies to the victims’ families and said that “dozens” of other people were harmed. He asked his allies to send air-defense equipment, especially Patriot systems, as quickly as possible. The ministry stated that while Russia was rescuing people in the Dnipro region, it shelled the area again, killing one firefighter and wounding another.
There was also one civilian woman murdered and seven hurt there. Two were killed and at least nine were injured in Kyiv, as per the ministry. Kharkiv, Sumy, and other regions were targeted as well.
Zelenskyy said that Russia has launched around 770 ballistic missiles and more than 50 Kinzhal missiles against Ukraine this year. He called for collective action from America, Europe, and the G7 allies to “ensure such shelling does not endanger lives,” and called for rapid supply of effective systems to defend cities. “Anything is possible,” he said.
Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiha stated “no one in the world wants this war to go on anymore except Russia” and criticized Moscow’s UN Security Council chairmanship in October 2025, calling for “collective action” to stop “Russian terror,” ministry quoted.
Context: Russia has increasingly paired drones with ballistic missiles to complicate the lives of air defenses, officials report. Zelenskyy has repeatedly invoked Patriots as the solution to downing threats going at high speed.
Officials were tallying casualties and damage Saturday, with more to come as emergency responders complete search and rescue and allies weigh further air-defense transfers.
