Zelenskyy Says Russian Sites From Yamal to Siberia in Strike Range

After a briefing on September and October deep strikes, Zelenskyy said the expanded units will draw on the Security Service of Ukraine and its intelligence agencies

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that Russian facilities along a line stretching from Yamal to Western Siberia are now within range of Ukraine’s deep strikes, and that Kyiv is working to reach still more distant parts of Russian territory.

Zelenskyy posted the account on X after what he called an important briefing on the results of Ukraine’s deep strikes in September and October.

“Today there was an important briefing on the results of our deep strikes in September and October. I am grateful to all our warriors for their precision and for consistently and effectively enforcing Ukraine’s long-range sanctions. Every Russian strike on our cities and communities always gets our fully justified response,” he wrote.

The post did not name the facilities or give a distance. The range claim rests on Zelenskyy’s own account and was not independently verified.

He said Ukraine has set key priorities for the further use of its long-range capabilities, and that its deep-strike units will be expanded. The expansion, he said, will draw on the Security Service of Ukraine, particularly its Alpha Special Operations Centre, as well as Ukraine’s intelligence agencies and other components of its Defence Forces.

Zelenskyy also said he had spoken on Friday with the manufacturers of the weapons.

“Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities are one of the real guarantees of our independence now, during this war, and they will remain one of our long-term security guarantees after it ends. We are building up our strength,” he wrote.

The post came a day before Zelenskyy is due in Istanbul for talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications said the talks will cover bilateral cooperation, regional and international developments, the Russia-Ukraine war and security in the Black Sea.
