OSLO — Steve Witkoff will travel to Oslo for talks on Ukraine on Tuesday, with fellow U.S. envoy Jared Kushner joining remotely, Norway’s government announced.
Ukraine asked the two Americans to take part. They will join Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
Støre said Norway and Finland wanted to help put the diplomatic work on a more constructive course.
Zelenskyy had asked the two countries to arrange the meeting, according to a separate statement from Norway’s Office of the Prime Minister. Neither announcement reported a settlement or set out terms for one.
A joint news conference with Zelenskyy, Stubb and Støre is planned after the meeting.
During the visit, Zelenskyy will also have an audience with Norway’s king. At the Norwegian Parliament, he is due to meet its president and parliamentary leaders.
