Kathmandu, Nepal- Nepal’s Veteran Singer and music composer Prem Dhoj Pradhan died on Thursday in Kathmandu. He was in his 82. Pradhan was admitted to the hospital due to chest problems last week.
Pradhan was born in 1938 BS in Sindhupalchowk district, Nepal. He was also known as the “Golden Voice of Nepal”.
In his six-decade-long carrier, Pradhan sang more than 700 songs. His contribution to Nepalbhasa music was also significant. He sang many popular Newari (Nepalbhasa) songs including, ‘Rajamati Kumati’ and ‘Wa Chhu Gali Tho Chu Gali’.
Among his songs- ‘Goreto Tyo Gaun ko’, ‘Maya Na Mara Mayalu’, ‘Namana Laaj Yastari’, ‘Para Laijau Phool Haru’ and many more in Nepali are popular.
