The United States Mission in Saudi Arabia has issued a security alert regarding an impending threat of missile and UAV strikes that are expected to target Dhahran on March 3, 2026.
In the security alert, American citizens in Dhahran are advised to stay away from the U.S. Consulate and immediately seek cover. In the alert, the U.S. Consulate has advised American citizens to shelter in place, go to the lowest floor of their residence, and stay away from windows. The Consulate staff is also sheltering in place and seeking cover.
American citizens are advised to seek cover immediately if sirens wail or if loud explosions are heard. While inside, they should immediately seek the lowest level of their residence with the fewest number of exterior walls and openings. While outside, they should seek shelter immediately. In case they cannot find shelter, they should lie down and cover their head. It is also noted that if a missile or a UAV is intercepted, the debris that falls from the sky could still be dangerous. As such, they should stay away from the debris and follow official sources of information.
This security alert comes at a time when the region is experiencing heightened tension. This comes in addition to the security alerts that have been issued by the U.S. authorities in the recent past. On Saturday, the State Department issued an update to its international security advice, warning Americans around the globe to exercise greater caution in the face of rising dangers stemming from the conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran. This security alert forms part of the State Department’s “Worldwide Caution” advice.
