Hillary Clinton Public Hearing Challenge Ahead of Epstein-Related Deposition

Hillary Clinton says Republicans should put questions on camera ahead of her late-February deposition.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton challenged House Republicans on Thursday to ask her questions face-to-face in a public hearing, rather than in private, as she prepares to undergo a scheduled deposition later this month in the House Oversight Committee’s investigation related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The former secretary of state wrote in a post on X:

“We have spent months cooperating with the committee, providing sworn statements, and now they have ‘moved the goalposts’ and made it ‘an exercise in distraction.’”

Clinton called out Oversight Committee Chairperson James Comer, challenging him to televise the questioning. “If you want this fight….let’s have it….in public,” she wrote, noting, “There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing.”

This follows a closed-door deposition scheduled for Hillary Clinton on February 26 and then Bill Clinton on February 27, which Comer’s office announced this week after the committee stated it was preparing contempt proceedings based on prior non-compliance.

The Republicans contend that the testimony given during the depositions will be transcribed and recorded, and the information will be released to the public. Depositions, and not TV hearings, are the standard way of getting testimony.

The Clintons have denied any wrongdoing and that they were not aware of the crimes that Epstein committed. The Clintons have not been accused of any wrongdoing over the case of Epstein, and none of the victims of Epstein or any of his associates have accused the Clintons of any improper behavior.
