The government of Nepal deported notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj, who was freed from prison by the Supreme Court’s decision after completing a 20-year sentence in Kathmandu and has been sent to France Friday evening.

Pradarsani Kumari, acting chief of the Immigration Department, informed that the serial killer Sobhraj, released from custody from the Central Jail, was sent to France by the Immigration Department at 6 pm on Friday.

According to her, Sobhraj was taken to Qatar Airways at 6 pm (local time) on Friday.

Sobhraj, born to an Indian father and a Vietnamese mother, has been barred from entering Nepal for the next ten years.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court ordered the release of Sobhraj, who had served 19 years and two months in prison. Although he was ordered to be released on the same day if possible, there was a delay due to paperwork.

Although he was released from prison on paper, he remained there.

He was taken to the immigration department only Friday. After taking him to the immigration department, the process of deportation started.

Sobhraj, known as the ‘bikini killer’ was jailed for the murder of an American woman, Connie Jo Boronzich, 29, and her Canadian friend Laurent Carrière, 26, in 1975.

Sobhraj killed Armand Laurent Carriere in Bhaktapur on 21 December 1975 and a young woman named Connie Jo Boronzich two days later.

Sobhraj was on the run from 1963 to 1976 after committing serial murders in Thailand, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, France, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Greece. The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) issued a green corner notice against him.

He also absconded after spending 10 years in an Indian jail. He escaped by administering an anesthetic to the prisoners, including the prison guards.

Sobieraj used to trade in pearls. It is mentioned in the book ‘Life and Crimes of Charles Shovraj’ written about him by Richard Neville and Julie Clarke that he killed people while going to different countries.
