Talks between Ukrainian and American teams in Florida were on the agenda when President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke Sunday with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Ukraine’s presidential office reported the call Oct. 18. Zelenskyy said the teams remained in “virtually nonstop” contact and were preparing their next diplomatic steps.
“Peace comes only through strength and cooperation built on trust,” he said.
Ukraine continues to brief its partners on Russian strikes and its air defense needs, according to the statement. Zelenskyy said much depended on Washington’s position and that Kyiv remained ready to work constructively toward a result.
The statement gave no date or venue for further talks and announced no new agreement. Virginia Times has not independently verified the contents of the call.
