Netherlands fast bowler Vivian Kingma has been issued a three-month period of ineligibility after an in-competition test result indicated that he had returned a positive to a recreational drug, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday.
The ICC said the 30-year-old returned a positive test for a Cocaine metabolite Benzoylecgonine, a “Substance of Abuse” under the ICC Anti-Doping Code, from a sample collected after the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 ODI match against the United Arab Emirates in Utrecht on May 12. Kingma admitted the infraction and demonstrated the substance was used out of competition, the ICC said.
The period of ineligibility is to commence from Aug. 15, 2025. The Code provides for it to be reduced to one month if Kingma goes through a treatment program sanctioned by the ICC, the ICC said.
According to sanctions, Kingma’s record from the May 12 ODI and all future matches have been disqualified, the ICC said.
