Ukraine’s Air Force said Russian forces launched 59 Shahed attack drones and decoy UAVs overnight Monday into Tuesday, with air defenses neutralizing 47 of them across northern and eastern regions. The launches began around 7 p.m. on Aug. 25 and continued through the night, according to the Air Force.
The Air Force reported the drones were fired from four directions inside Russia—Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk—and credited anti-aircraft missile units, electronic-warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups with repelling the attack. Preliminary tallies as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 26 showed 12 drones striking nine locations.
Air defense effectiveness reached 79.6 percent, the Air Force added in its morning update. The figure reflects the number of drones downed or suppressed out of the total launched.

The overnight barrage shows Moscow is still leaning on Shahed-type drones to probe and wear down Ukraine’s air defenses. Similar strikes have come in waves in recent weeks, and officials say counter-drone tactics—from mobile fire teams to electronic jamming—will stay at the top of the list as the air war keeps shifting.
