Japanese prime minister Sanae Takaichi said President Donald Trump called her shortly after Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States and provided a detailed account of their summit.
The two leaders discussed issues involving China, including the economy, security and economic security. They also confirmed cooperation between Japan and the United States, Takaichi wrote in a post on X.
Trump and Takaichi had met in New York on Sept. 22. The fact that they met twice during the course of one week is evidence of how strong the alliance between Japan and the United States is, she noted.
