Trump Says Virginia Election Was ‘Rigged,’ Blasts Mail Ballots and Referendum

Trump alleges a late mail-in ballot drop changed the outcome and calls the referendum language deceptive.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Virginia election was “rigged.” He called the result a “crooked victory” and said that Democrats did better because a “mail-in ballot drop” happened late.

Trump did not specify which race he was referring to, provide evidence to support his claim, or indicate what actions he believes should be taken next regarding the law, if any.

In the post, Trump said that Republicans had been winning all day, but the results changed late in the day. He also said that the result didn’t match what he called Virginia’s very close presidential vote in November

Trump separately attacked the wording of a referendum on the ballot, saying it was “purposefully unintelligible and deceptive.” He wrote that he did not understand the language of the measure and suggested others did not either.

He ended the post by saying, “Let’s see if the Courts will fix this travesty of ‘Justice.’”
