Trump Says Russia Agreed to Diesel Supplies After Putin Talks

Announced deliveries include 500,000 tons in November, with a further 3 million tons dependent on refinery conditions.

President Donald Trump said Russia agreed during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin to immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel to U.S. and global markets.

Trump outlined the deliveries in a Truth Social post. He said Russia would supply another 500,000 tons in November, then 1 million tons immediately afterward.

An additional 3 million tons would arrive “within a short period of time,” he wrote. That delivery would depend on the condition of Russian diesel refineries, according to his statement.

Trump called the discussion “highly successful” and predicted the supplies would help drive diesel prices sharply lower worldwide.

He linked that prediction to his assertion that the United States has “TOTAL CONTROL” of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said prices would decline “IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!” but gave no estimate of the reduction or date when it would reach consumers.

The post presented Trump’s account of the agreement. It contained no statement from Putin or other Russian officials and did not identify buyers, prices or transport arrangements.

Trump said reducing costs for Americans was his top priority, singling out farmers, ranchers and truckers.

He ended the post by reiterating that Iran would not have a nuclear weapon, without elaborating.

This is a developing story. Updates will be added as more information becomes available.
