President Donald Trump on Monday demanded Iran immediately surrender its enriched uranium to the United States or destroy it under international oversight, and said eight nations must join the Abraham Accords as a condition of any broader settlement with Tehran.
Writing on Truth Social, Trump said the material must either be “turned over to the United States to be brought home and destroyed” or eliminated on-site in coordination with Iran. He said the Atomic Energy Commission, or an equivalent body, must witness the process.
In a separate Truth Social post earlier Monday, Trump said he raised Abraham Accords membership during talks Saturday with senior officials from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
“It should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords,” he wrote. Nations that refuse should be excluded from any agreement, Trump said, calling such refusal a sign of “bad intention.”
The UAE and Bahrain are existing signatories. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, and Jordan have not signed. Trump said he has directed his representatives to begin formally bringing all named countries into the accords, and called on Saudi Arabia and Qatar to move first. He allowed that “one or two” countries may have valid reasons for holding back.
Trump described the Iran talks as “proceeding nicely” but warned that a breakdown would mean returning to conflict “bigger and stronger than ever before.”
He added that should Iran reach a deal, it would be “an Honor” to welcome Tehran into what he called an “unparalleled World Coalition.”
