BREAKING: Trump Extends Pause on Strikes Against Iranian Energy Sites for 10 Days

Trump says the pause will now run until April 6 as negotiations continue.

President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he was extending a pause on U.S. military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure by 10 days, saying in a post on Truth Social that the move came “as per Iranian Government request.”

Trump said the pause would last until Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. He also said talks were continuing and claimed they were going “very well,” pushing back on what he described as contrary reports in the media.

On Thursday morning, Trump wrote in a separate Truth Social post that Iranian negotiators were “very different and strange” and said they were “begging” for a deal while publicly stating they were only reviewing a U.S. proposal. He warned that Iran needed to get serious soon and said there would be “no turning back” if it did not.

The new statement follows Trump’s announcement on Monday, March 23, when he said on Truth Social that the United States and Iran had held “very good and productive conversations” over the previous two days on what he described as a complete resolution of hostilities in the Middle East.

President Trump said he had instructed the Department of War to postpone any military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, subject to the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions.
