President Trump on Thursday praised Attorney General Pam Bondi and went on to attack Rep. Thomas Massie just a day after the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing in which there were sharp accusations made by Democrats over the way the Justice Department has handled documents related to the Epstein case.
The President wrote on Truth Social: “Just watched Attorney General Pam Bondi do a fantastic job at the recent House Judiciary Committee hearing. This whole process has shown that I have been 100% exonerated on the Epstein case, just as I was on Russia, Russia, Russia, and so many other things. The Democrats are only using the Epstein case to damage me and get votes in the coming election. Also, Rep. Massie, who is a Sanctimonious RINO, is losing in Kentucky to a new challenger named Ed Gallrein, who is pulling ahead in the polls.”
Rep. Jamie Raskin, who is the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee Democrats, made some sharp accusations against Attorney General Bondi in his opening statements during the hearing. He claimed Bondi has failed to meet with survivors who attended the hearing and failed to properly handle the Epstein documents. He also claimed the DOJ has not properly complied with Congress’ demands to turn over documents related to the case. He said Congress had demanded the release of six million documents, photos, and videos but only half of them were turned over to Congress.
He claimed the DOJ had also failed to properly redact the names of the abusers and their associates but did not properly redact the names of the victims.
Raskin also raised complaints about the DOJ’s handling of Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of helping Epstein recruit and abuse girls, and broadened his attack to argue Bondi has politicized the department—claims Trump rejected in his post while shifting blame to Democrats.
