The White House today publicly displayed images of arrested criminal illegal immigrants, marking a significant milestone in President Donald J. Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts during the first 100 days of his second term.
In an official statement, the White House said,
“This morning, images of the worst of the worst criminal illegal immigrants arrested since President Donald J. Trump took office were placed on the lawn of the White House for the world to see — highlighting the Trump Administration’s unprecedented effort to secure our homeland and send these vicious criminals back where they belong.”
The display featured printed photos placed on the South Lawn of the White House, showcasing individuals arrested for crimes including homicide, sexual assault, drug trafficking, and other serious offenses.
Images from the event were also shared by the White House Press Secretary on X (formerly Twitter): View the Post.
Bhutanese Nationals Included in the List
Among those featured, two individuals were identified as Bhutanese nationals:
- Birkha Sarki:
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Detroit arrested Birkha Sarki, a 27-year-old citizen of Bhutan. Sarki had a Final Order of Removal issued on August 6, 2024. His criminal history includes a conviction for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Columbus, Ohio. He was sentenced to five years in prison before immigration authorities initiated his removal proceedings. - Budha Sing Gurung:
ICE agents in Philadelphia arrested Budha Sing Gurung, a 40-year-old citizen of Bhutan. Gurung had a Final Order of Removal dated February 23, 2021. His criminal history includes convictions for rape by forcible compulsion, sexual assault, indecent assault without consent, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor involving sexual offenses. These crimes occurred in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he was sentenced to a term of five to ten years in prison.
The administration highlighted these arrests as part of its broader effort to prioritize the removal of individuals convicted of serious crimes, describing the individuals displayed as “the worst of the worst” among those arrested since President Trump took office in January 2025.
Further case details beyond the individuals’ identification and charges were not separately disclosed.
The visual display is part of a broader effort by the administration to highlight immigration enforcement as a key achievement during President Trump’s early days back in office.
