A fatal explosion at the Biscailuz Center Academy Training facility in East Los Angeles has claimed the lives of three law enforcement officers on Friday morning, authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred around 7:30 AM local time in the car park of the Special Enforcement Bureau at the training facility. The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD) confirmed the location and number of fatalities in a brief statement.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the explosion is still unknown. It is unclear whether there were additional casualties beyond the three confirmed fatalities. ATF arson investigators, members of the LAFD, and the LAPD bomb squad are on-site assisting with the investigation.
