A 26-year-old Nepali security guard working in Abu Dhabi has won a Dh30 million jackpot ( (Dh30 million, roughly 125 Crore Nepali Rupees , $8.17 million US dollars) in The UAE Lottery‘s Lucky Day draw, becoming the lottery’s first-ever grand prize winner at that amount.
According to a video and statement released by The UAE Lottery, Khan said he was on night duty when he received an email notification from the lottery around 10:30 p.m.
“I was notified that I won the 30 million dirhams,” Khan said.
Khan said he shared the ticket with four friends. The group had been pooling money each week to buy lottery tickets together.

He described calling his friends one by one after discovering the win around 10:30 p.m. “My hands, my legs, all are shaking,” Khan said. “It was totally amazing feeling.”
Khan said he plans to buy a home for his family in Nepal, invest in the UAE, and purchase a Mahindra Thar and a Rolex watch.
He also credited his partner, saying she had stayed with him before the win.
“The tip will be just keep believing,” Khan said. “The dream, it will come true.”
