A business jet crashed on Thursday morning, at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, and local officials said there were many deaths.
Statesville Regional Airport said that the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. while the plane was landing. The Federal Aviation Administration was on its way to look into it. The airport said that the they didn’t have any more information right away, but they would send out updates as soon as they got additional information.
The Federal Aviation Administration said that the plane was a Cessna C550. The number of people on the plane remains unknown.
WBTV was told by the police that there wasmore than one death. Officials have not said who was involved.
Statesville Regional Airport is a city-owned airport about 50 miles north of Charlotte. IBusiness travel and corporate aviation utilize this airport.
The FAA investigation will likely look into the plane’s approach, landing conditions, and other things that led up to the crash.
