    Tour Troubles Disrupt Global Comeback

Global pop icon Shakira, currently on her highly anticipated “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” world tour, has run into a string of setbacks that are frustrating fans and disrupting schedules. The latest blow came on June 13 in San Antonio, Texas, where her sold-out concert at the Alamodome was abruptly postponed due to a critical infrastructure issue.

The show was called off just hours before Shakira was set to perform, leaving fans — some of whom had traveled long distances and paid steep parking fees — furious. Complaints about logistics and venue management added to the discontent, with many voicing outrage on platforms like X and Facebook.

Shakira Breaks Silence with Emotional Apology

Responding to the backlash, Shakira issued a heartfelt public statement on Facebook, explaining the root of the problem: a structural failure related to a truss system provided by a third-party company responsible for supporting her elaborate stage production.

“To perform in each city, we rely on a third party who locally provides the infrastructure to support the stage and the ceiling from which my production hangs… I am here, devastated and heartbroken.”

She further explained that following an earlier issue in Boston, she had demanded a new team of engineers and was assured that the structure had been reinforced and made safe. Despite those efforts, safety concerns persisted in San Antonio, leading to the postponement.

Fans Voice Outrage Over Lack of Compensation

Adding to the fallout, Shakira’s Facebook post was quickly flooded with disappointed and frustrated fan comments, many demanding accountability and reimbursement for their losses.

“There should be a policy or law where if a concert is cancelled the buyer can get reimbursed for all expenses incurred for making that trip. With proof of hotel night, lodging, travel, gas, dog sitters, etc., and even days off of work to attend that night — it can add up and cause hardship for the consumer of the concert tickets. Things happen, but celebrities have enough money to compensate their fans.”
“6–7 hours of driving, lodging expenses, and so many other costs. The least you could’ve done is let us know a day earlier! Coming back next week is difficult — please offer a refund option.”

These reactions underline the growing frustration among fans who not only lost out on the experience but also suffered financial setbacks due to the last-minute cancellation. Many are now calling for more transparent communication and policies that protect consumers attending large-scale entertainment events.

    What’s Next for the Tour?

Shakira confirmed that her tour will resume in Houston on Monday, and efforts are underway to reschedule the San Antonio performance. However, the ongoing disruptions have prompted questions about tour management and quality control with third-party logistics providers.

Despite the hiccups, the Colombian superstar’s fans remain hopeful that future shows will go on without a hitch — especially as this marks her first major tour following her chart-topping 2024 comeback album.
