Massive Air Assault Hits Residential Kyiv
A series of Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv early Wednesday left at least eight people dead and more than 60 injured, marking one of the deadliest attacks on the capital in recent weeks. Among the victims was a young child, Ukrainian officials confirmed.
According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as shared on their official account on X, the attack deliberately targeted residential neighborhoods. One of the hardest-hit areas saw a section of a multi-story apartment building collapse entirely after sustaining a direct strike.
Rescue Teams Race Against Time
Emergency workers are actively engaged in round-the-clock rescue efforts. In one dramatic incident, a man was rescued alive after spending hours trapped under the rubble. Officials say he had fallen from the second to the first floor and was pinned under debris. Rescuers maintained voice contact and eventually tunneled through a neighboring wall to extract him.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing at two key locations, with emergency teams working across six additional sites in the capital. Psychologists, medics, volunteers, and engineers remain at the scenes to assist survivors and clear debris.

Nationwide Strikes: Dnipro, Poltava, Mykolaiv Also Targeted
Beyond Kyiv, regions including Dnipro, Poltava, Sumy, and Mykolaiv also came under heavy fire. According to official figures cited by Ukrainian authorities, Russia launched more than 300 drones and at least 8 missiles overnight.
Many of the strikes coincided with Ukraine’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to the West. “Once again, the world witnessed Russia’s response to our desire for peace, shared with America and Europe,” the foreign ministry said, calling the attack a continuation of Russia’s “war of aggression.”
Documenting War Crimes Amid Rubble
Teams from Ukraine’s war crimes documentation units have been deployed to affected areas. In Kyiv’s hardest-hit district, the destruction of an entire building entrance is being treated as potential evidence of another deliberate strike on civilians.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia “won’t stop unless it’s forced to,” reiterating its stance that “real peace will come only through strength and justice.”
