Russia launches 300+ drones, 37 missiles in overnight barrage, Zelenskyy says

Zelenskyy says repeat strikes targeted responders and critical energy facilities; he will seek tougher sanctions and long-range support in Washington.

Russia fired more than 300 attack drones and 37 missiles—many of them ballistic—at targets across Ukraine overnight, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The strikes hit energy facilities and civilian infrastructure as emergency crews worked through the night to contain damage and restore power.

Emergency teams worked all night to limit the damage and restore power. Zelenskyy added that infrastructure in the Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Poltava areas was attacked. The city of Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region was hit; a post office was damaged and one person was hurt.

He said that important infrastructure and a State Emergency Service department were attacked in the Kharkiv region, and there are injured people. He also said that recovery activities are going on in all the impacted locations.

Zelenskyy accused Russia of “double terror,” saying forces used Shahed-type drones carrying cluster munitions and then launched repeat strikes aimed at injuring firefighters and energy workers responding to the first wave.

He stated that Russia had attacked Ukraine’s energy grid “every single day” this fall.

Zelenskyy advised partners to put additional pressure on Russia by using sanctions and long-range strike weapons. He called Vladimir Putin “deaf” to world calls for help. He said he would bring up those ideas in talks in Washington today and Friday.
