There are reports of explosions as Russia starts a large drone attack over Ukraine. The Kyiv Independent reported that late Saturday into early Sunday, Russia dispatched hundreds of attack drones toward cities across Ukraine.
This sent off air-raid sirens and air-defense fire in many areas. There were reports of explosions in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and several districts of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
According to a message on Telegram, Kyiv officials told people at 11:30 p.m. local time that air defenses were in place above the city as the onslaught happened.
The Air Force of Ukraine reported that numerous groups of drones were attacking almost every part of the nation and told residents to stay inside. The service didn’t say right away how many drones were sent out.
The Kyiv Independent said that as of early Sunday, there were no reports of damage or deaths from the most recent strikes.
The strike that happened overnight comes after a series of big attacks in the past few weeks. Russia launched 537 Shahed-type drones and decoys and 37 missiles in a strike package on August 30. Most of the missiles targeted Zaporizhzhia.
