The price of gold and silver dropped in the domestic market of Nepal on Wednesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, fine gold has dropped by Rs 1,100 to Rs 237,200 per tola, while silver dropped by Rs 25 to Rs 2,990.
The move tracks softer international bullion, with spot gold around $3,970 per ounce today, according to Trading Economics.
The price of gold in Nepal reached an all-time high of Rs 258,000 per tola on October 17, 2025. Prices started to fall a few days later, dropping to Rs 253,200 by October 19 and continuing to fall till the end of October.
From that October peak, today’s benchmark of Rs 237,200 implies a cumulative decline of roughly Rs 20,800 per tola in less than three weeks. Retailers say the correction is similar to what happens throughout the world following a record run in gold and silver and recent daily changes in foreign markets.
