Four journalists from major news outlets: Reuters, the Associated Press, and Al Jazeera were killed in three Israeli attacks on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza, on Monday, August 25, 2025, the Associated Press reported. The AP stated that 19 people had perished, although Reuters said that at least 15 had died.
Mariam Dagga, a freelanced visual journalist for the AP, was one of the persons who died. The Associated Press said they were “shocked and saddened” by her death. She was 33 years old.

According to Reuters, Hussam al-Masri, a cameraman for Reuters was killed while shooting the first explosion at the hospital. Another coworker named Hatem Khaled was also injured. A spokesperson for Reuters said, “We are devastated.”

It was still fighting between Israel and Hamas on Monday when the attacks happened.
The Associated Press approached the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israel Defense Forces to comment on the strike. Both declined to comment, AP said.
