    MANASSAS PARK, VA — June 6, 2025 — A tragic incident unfolded late Thursday night as police discovered four individuals dead in a downstairs apartment following a welfare check in Manassas Park. Authorities are investigating the event as a suspected murder-suicide involving two adults and two young children.

    According to an official press release from the Manassas Park Police Department, officers were called to the 9400 block of Lanae Lane at approximately 10:40 p.m. on June 5, 2025. The homeowner had requested a welfare check on his tenants after being unable to contact them. Upon entering the downstairs unit, officers located four individuals, all deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

    The victims have been identified as Santosh Pariyar, 38; Anju Shrestha, 36; a 2-year-old male; and an 8-year-old female. A firearm was found at the scene.

    “This is an active investigation, and we ask for the public’s patience as we investigate the incident,” the Manassas Park Police Department stated.

    All individuals were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Manassas. Investigators are in the process of notifying next of kin.

    The Manassas Park Police Department continues to investigate the case as a potential murder-suicide and has not released further details at this time.
