Three people were killed in a Russian missile strike near a grocery store outside Kharkiv on Sunday, regional Gov. Oleh Syniehubov reported.
The governor’s injury count reached 22, including two children, as of 9:48 p.m. in Ukraine, or 2:48 p.m. Eastern, according to RBC-Ukraine. The figures remain attributed to Ukrainian officials.
The attack struck Pisochyn, a settlement outside Kharkiv. Regional authorities identified those killed as a 16-year-old boy and two women, ages 19 and 51, MediaPort reported.
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that the strike started a fire covering about 300 square meters. Crews extinguished the blaze, and emergency workers, medical staff and volunteers responded at the scene, RBC-Ukraine reported.
The casualty figures and responsibility for the attack were not independently established by the material reviewed.
