    • Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and ordered increased diplomatic security worldwide.
    • President Trump condemned the killings as antisemitic and called for an end to hatred and radicalism.
    • Global Jewish and diplomatic communities mourn the loss of the young couple, described as being on the verge of engagement.

Two Israeli embassy staff members were shot and killed in Washington, D.C., in what Israeli authorities are calling a brutal and targeted terrorist attack. The victims, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, were fatally attacked outside the Capital Jewish Museum following a diplomatic event on Wednesday evening.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “We are shocked and horrified this morning by the news of the brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two of our Embassy staff members in Washington.” The statement added, “We will not be deterred by terror. We will continue our mission across the globe, with unwavering commitment.”

The Israeli Embassy in the U.S. posted: “Yaron and Sarah were our friends and colleagues. They were in the prime of their lives. This evening, a terrorist shot and killed them as they exited an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in DC. The entire embassy staff is heartbroken and devastated by their murder.”

“This is a difficult and horrific event. We are witnessing the terrible price of anti-Semitism and wild incitement against the State of Israel.”
    — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had been briefed by Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S., Yechiel Leiter, and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. “She informed me that President Donald Trump was closely following the incident, and that U.S. authorities would do everything they could to bring the killer to justice,” he said. Netanyahu also thanked both Bondi and Trump for their stance against antisemitism.

He added that he had instructed Israeli security officials to increase protection measures for embassies and envoys worldwide, warning that antisemitic incitement continues to carry a deadly cost.

President Donald Trump addressed the tragedy on Truth Social, writing: “These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW! Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God Bless You ALL!”

U.S. law enforcement has yet to release the name of the suspect or details of the motive, but federal authorities have pledged full support to Israeli officials as the investigation unfolds. Security has been increased around Israeli institutions in Washington and other major cities.
