The International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), the world’s top group of genocide experts, has issued a resolution saying that the legal standards have been reached to prove that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
The resolution says that Israel’s actions are genocide under the UN Genocide Convention of 1948, as well as war crimes and crimes against humanity under international law. The law went into effect on August 31, 2025.
The resolution said that Israel had to stop targeting civilians, follow the directives of the International Court of Justice, and let humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The IAGS said that the members of the International Criminal Court are requested to carry out arrest warrants and told all countries to follow their international law duties.
