Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday warned countries in the region not to allow hostile forces to use their territory to wage war against Iran, saying states that want “development and security” should not let “enemies run the war” from their lands.
In a post on X, Pezeshkian said Iran does not launch preemptive attacks but would respond forcefully if its infrastructure or economic centers were hit.
“We have said many times that Iran doesn’t carry out preemptive attacks, but we will retaliate strongly if our infrastructure or economic centers are targeted,” he wrote.
Addressing neighboring countries, he added: “If you want development and security, don’t let our enemies run the war from your lands.”
The warning comes as tensions in the Middle East continue to rise after a joint U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran on Feb. 28, according to the report provided. The report says more than 1,340 people have been killed so far, including then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The report also says Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and Gulf countries that host U.S. military assets.
