Iran Denies UAE Missile and Drone Claims, Warns Abu Dhabi Over U.S. and Israeli Cooperation

Tehran rejected Abu Dhabi’s allegations and said it would defend its interests and national security.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied UAE allegations that missiles and drones were launched from Iran toward the Emirates, while warning Abu Dhabi to end what Tehran described as cooperation with the United States and Israel.

In a statement dated May 5, 2026, the Iranian Foreign Ministry rejected what it called “false allegations” by Abu Dhabi about missiles and drones being fired from Iranian territory toward the UAE.

The ministry said that Iran’s military actions in this phase had only been defensive against the US. The translated statement did not give any more information.

Iran also accused Abu Dhabi of “collusion with hostile parties” against the Islamic Republic, including the continued hosting of military bases and equipment. The ministry warned that those actions could carry consequences for regional peace and stability.

Tehran said UAE authorities had acted against the principle of good neighborliness and the basic principles of the U.N. Charter by cooperating with what it called the “aggressive American side,” according to the statement.

Iran had shown restraint, pointing to what it called a responsible attitude and concern for the region as a whole, the ministry said in the statement.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the country still believes in the U.N. Charter, international law, and being a good neighbor to other countries in the region.

At the same time, Tehran demanded that Abu Dhabi stop what it called cooperation with hostile parties, naming the United States and “the Zionist entity.”

Iran also warned that it would not hesitate to take what it called necessary and appropriate measures to defend its interests and national security.
