Indian Air Force An-32 Crashes in Assam, Killing Five Personnel

IAF names five victims killed when An-32 went down in Jorhat during routine flight

Five Indian Air Force personnel died when an An-32 military transport aircraft crashed in Jorhat, Assam, the Indian Air Force said.

The IAF identified the victims as Squadron Leader Prashant Singh, Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar, Sergeant Jitendra Sharma, Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat and Agniveervayu Danish Alam.

Rescuers were seen recovering victims from the crash site. The aircraft had been on a routine flight.

The IAF said it “extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.”
