IDF Says Gaza Ceasefire Breached by Militants Near ‘Yellow Line’

Israeli military says militants crossed the “yellow line” in southern Gaza, breaching the truce and triggering a defensive strike.

The Israeli military (IDF) on Monday said  armed militants crossed the “yellow line” in southern Gaza and moved toward Israeli troops in violation of the current ceasefire. In response, Is rael Defense Forces carried out the strike to remove the threat.

The incident was  along the deployment boundary that separates areas of Israeli control under the truce framework. After spotting the ap proach, the military said it “struck the terrorists” in defense of fo rces. The IDF added that its soldiers “remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement” and will act against any immediate threats.

The statement did not say how many  casualties or where they were,  other than “s outhern Gaza.” The army has used the term “yellow line” throughout the truce to describe a buffer marking where Palestinian movement is permitted and where Israeli units remain positioned. Monday’s message reiterated that forces would continue to operate within the agreement while responding to hostile movements.
