- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accuses the House Rules Committee of blocking both her Epstein files amendment and Ukraine aid challenge.
- She claims neocon Republicans have hijacked the MAGA movement by supporting foreign war funding.
- In a 2023 vote, over 100 Republicans voted in favor of Ukraine funding; all Democrats supported it.
- Greene warns that NATO’s weapons purchases indirectly use American taxpayer money.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has launched a fiery rebuke against her own party, calling out Republican leadership in the House Rules Committee for blocking her amendments on two key issues — the unsealing of the Epstein files and halting military aid to Ukraine.
Epstein Files and Ukraine: Both Blocked
According to Greene, House GOP leadership rejected her proposal to declassify and release the Epstein files — documents allegedly tied to elite figures in child trafficking investigations. Simultaneously, the same committee blocked her proposed amendment to stop further munitions transfers to Ukraine.
“The same Republicans in the Rules Committee who blocked the release of the Epstein files last night also blocked my amendment to transfer munitions to Ukraine,” Greene posted on X.
MAGA vs. GOP Establishment
Greene contends that the Republican establishment has abandoned the core values of the MAGA movement — namely, a strict non-interventionist foreign policy. “MAGA delivered the majority to Republicans and voted for no more U.S. involvement in foreign wars,” she wrote, “but now the neocons and establishment Republicans have hijacked MAGA!”
The 2023 Vote on Ukraine Aid
Greene highlighted a pivotal vote in September 2023 in which she forced a stand-alone floor vote on $300 million in military aid for Ukraine. Despite MAGA opposition, the measure revealed a sharp divide within the GOP:
- Republicans: 101 Yea, 117 Nay
- Democrats: 210 Yea, 0 Nay
“The supposed anti-war party voted unanimously in favor of foreign war funding,” Greene noted in her post, expressing frustration with the entire Washington establishment.
“We’re Still Paying for NATO’s Weapons”
She further criticized the logic that American defense companies selling to NATO somehow reduces the U.S. burden. “If NATO is buying American weapons, we are STILL PAYING FOR IT!” she wrote, referring to U.S. funding of the NATO alliance itself.
What’s Next?
With the Rules Committee closing the door on both her Epstein and Ukraine-related amendments, Greene is likely to continue rallying the MAGA base against what she sees as a betrayal of its founding principles. Her ongoing clashes with establishment Republicans could set the stage for more intra-party conflict heading into the 2026 midterms.
