Ghana qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 1–0 win over Comoros at Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, a result confirmed soon after by FIFA.
Mohammed Kudus scored two minutes into the second half, sliding in from close range after Alidu Seidu’s pass after a brief break in the box. The win ends a great qualification run for Otto Addo and sets up the Black Stars’ fifth trip to the World Cup.
The finals will take place in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
The result also made Ghana the fifth African country to qualify for the expanded 2026 tournament. This led to celebrations in Accra and all throughout the country.
The tournament draw will take place in December, and Ghana is likely to plan warm-up games in the coming months.
