Google’s training library makes it easy to skill up fast—no computer science degree required. Start with the basics, add cloud and responsible-AI know-how, then finish with hands-on prompt design. Most items below are free to view; several award shareable Google Cloud skill badges.
1) Introduction to Generative AI
A friendly primer on what generative AI is, how it differs from traditional machine learning, and where it shows up in real products. Built for total beginners; takes under an hour and leads to a shareable badge.
2) Introduction to Large Language Models
Understand how LLMs work, where they shine, and simple ways to improve results with prompt tuning. It’s the “how it actually functions” course most people wish they had first.
3) Introduction to Responsible AI
Short, plain-English course on why responsibility matters in AI—bias, safety, and practical guardrails. Good ethics starter before you build anything serious.
4) Responsible AI: Applying AI Principles with Google Cloud
Go beyond slogans. This course shows how Google operationalizes its AI Principles—governance reviews, issue spotting, and lessons learned you can adapt to your team.
5) Google AI Essentials (Coursera)
Practical workplace skills: brainstorming, outlining, and faster writing with AI tools. Learn methods you can apply tomorrow at the office. Certificate issued by Coursera upon completion (fees/aid policies apply).
6) Cloud Computing Fundamentals (Foundations Series)
The backbone behind modern AI. Learn what the cloud is, why it matters, and how Google Cloud’s core services fit together—perfect orientation before ML or app work.
7) Cloud Computing Essentials: Data, ML & AI in Google Cloud
A clear walkthrough of managed data services, ML basics, and how AI workloads run on Google Cloud. Great bridge from theory to real platforms; pairs well with skill badges.
8) Understand the Basics of Code (Skillshop)
No background? Start here. Learn what code is, why there are many languages, and how simple logic unlocks problem-solving across tools—including AI.
9) Prompt Design in Vertex AI (Skill Badge)
Level up your prompting. Craft clearer instructions, use multimodal inputs, and ship better outputs with Gemini. Finish the challenge lab to earn a Google Cloud skill badge.
Tip: Work through #1–#3 first, then #6–#7 for cloud fluency. Add #8 to build coding confidence, and close with #9 to practice advanced prompting. Use #4 any time you’re shaping policy or launching an AI feature.
