    DEVELOPING: EU Office in Kyiv Damaged by Russian Strike; 14 Dead Including 3 Children

    A Russian strike on Kyiv overnight killed at least 14 people, including three children, and damaged dozens of buildings — among them the offices of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as a ā€œhorrific and deliberate killing of civilians,ā€ urging a firm global response and tougher sanctions.

    International Condemnation

    President of the European Council António Costa said he was ā€œhorrifiedā€ by the deadly barrage and stressed that ā€œthe EU will not be intimidated.ā€

    European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said another night of ā€œrelentless bombingsā€ hit civilian infrastructure and the EU Delegation building, noting staff are safe and calling on Russia to halt indiscriminate attacks and engage in talks for a just, lasting peace.

    Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission, said she spoke with EU staff in Kyiv after their office was hit, affirmed that ā€œno diplomatic mission should ever be a target,ā€ and announced the Russian envoy will be summoned in Brussels.

    French President Emmanuel Macron called the bombardment ā€œterror and barbarism,ā€ noting that offices of the EU Delegation and the British Council were damaged.

    UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his thoughts were with those affected by the ā€œsenselessā€ strikes that damaged the British Council building, adding that ā€œthis bloodshed must end.ā€

    Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen strongly condemned the attack, saying it ā€œclearly shows that Putin has no interest in peace.ā€

    U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet issued a public statement.
