On Tuesday, the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform made public 33,295 pages of information relating to Jeffrey Epstein that the Justice Department had to turn up under oath.
The committee said that the DOJ will keep making more materials, but they will black out the names of the victims and any child sexual abuse information.
The committee put links to the information online and made a backup access site available. They said that the release was due to a subpoena that Chairman James Comer issued on August 5 for papers relating to Epstein.
In a statement from August 18, Comer indicated that the DOJ has started giving over records and stressed the need to protect victims by blacking out any identifying information and pictures of abuse.
The committee said the DOJ is likely to make more releases, with redactions kept in place to protect victims.
